Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey a grandi dans le New Jersey. Vendeur dans une entreprise de télémarketing vers la fin des années 90 il est aussi un bon joueur de Poker Holdem, Omaha et Seven Card Stud. Il commence à jouer alors qu'il est encore mineur dans les casinos d'Atlantic City, avec une fausse carte d'identité sous le faux nom de "Jerome Graham". Son surnom de l'époque "No Home Jerome" vient de là , car il n'était jamais à la maison mais toujours au casino. Il ne gagnait jamais le gros lot, mais tirait progressivement les leçons de l'expérience. Le jour où Phil eut la majorité (21 ans), il brûla sa fausse carte d'identité et un futur joueur de poker professionnel était né.

Phil et son style très agressif, constant autant qu'il est possible de l'être au poker est doté en plus d'une énorme capacité de concentration. Il fait attention à tout autour de la table. Lors d'une partie, il paraît concentré au point de déstabiliser ses adversaires. Il domine simplement et sans conteste les tournois auxquels il participe.

C'est certainement le meilleur joueur du monde de sa génération aussi bien en Tournoi qu'en cash game, avec un palmares impressionant ! En 2002 Phil enchaîne trois premières places, dont un prix de 80,000$ au L.A. Poker Classic et la même année il remporte six prix au WSOP dont trois bracelets d’or égalisant le record détenu par Phil Hellmuth et Ted Forrest pour le plus grand nombre de victoires en une seule année.

Depuis, Phil enchaine les victoires et les places payées. Le 20 novembre 2005, il gagne le premier prix de $1.000.000 au tournoi millions de Monte Carlo. Quatre jours plus tard, il remporte le premier prix de $600.000 au tournoi sur invitation organisé par la salle de jeu en ligne Full tilt Poker. Aujourd'hui, Phil Ivey vit avec sa femme Luciaetta à Las Vegas où il s'adonne à sa passion pour le jeu de poker live et joue fréquemment en Cash Game aussi bien qu'en tournoi.
